The North American Hazardous Materials Management Association advocates for comprehensive state product policy legislation. NAHMMA is in support of legislation establishing paint stewardship systems and believes that paint stewardship legislation, and subsequent rulemaking, must incorporate the principles outlined in this policy statement. 

National Association of Counties Adopts EPR Resolution

The National Association of Counties adopted a resolution in 2008 supporting an Extended Producer Responsibility Framework Approach (PDF file, 11KB) and readopted it in 2009.  The resolution supports the creation of effective producer-lead reduction, reuse and recycling programs, to deal with a product’s lifecycle impacts from design through end of life management, without relying solely on state and local governments.
