NWPSC Organizational Structure
Steering Committee:
The purpose of the Steering Committee is to provide leadership to the NWPSC. The Steering Committee plans and directs the work of the NWPSC and participates in the implementation of the scope of work. Their efforts include facilitating communication and coordination between parties conducting product stewardship activities and publicizing the concept of product stewardship.
Members of the Steering Committee are representatives of government agencies that provide funding and/or staff time to NWPSC activities and projects, and commit staff time to attend monthly Steering Committee meetings. Membership in the Steering Committee is limited to 15 agencies.
Project Committees:
The NWPSC conducts much of its work via Project Committees. Project Committees are generally comprised of representatives from government and nonprofit groups that focus their work on specific commodities or materials to encourage product stewardship within that particular industry. Project Committees meet independently of the Steering Committee but give updates to the Steering Committee on a regular basis. They may be called upon to participate in conferences and events as appropriate. Associate Members can participate in Project Committees upon request, approved by the Steering Committee.
Associate Members:
Associate members are local, state, regional and federal government agencies, and non-profit organizations that support the NWPSC mission. Associate Members sign the Pledge of Support on behalf of their agency or organization and agree to support product stewardship policies and programs endorsed by the NWPSC as authorized by their organization or agency. All Associate Members are subject to approval by the NWPSC Steering Committee. Associates Members can participate in any of the Project Committees upon request, approved by the Steering Committee.
